The history of Cutting started way back in Kempsey NSW in 1969. A new exciting sport came to Australian shores with the introduction on the American Quarter Horse. We acknowledge the founders of this exciting sport & wish to carry on the tradition. The Australian Cutting Horse Group was formed, the founder of this exciting group is Mr Mark Watt of Ebor NSW. Mark has been involved with horses all his life, coming from a long line of professional horsemen & horsewomen. Mark being a competitor himself had a vision to offer Cutting, Snafflebit and Youth events to include all walks of life. Making an exciting experience at an affordable price, but most of all to give everyone the opportunity to try their hand at Cutting! Along with his childhood friend Lyndall Malmborg of Coominya QLD, Australian Cutting Horse & Youth Group was formed. Lyndall also comes from a equine competition background spending many a weekend at ABCRA campdraft & cutting events with her father the late Don Tanner a truly successful horseman in the campdraft arena & cutting pen. Lyndall spent many years in the USA working with cutting horses & has a strong interest in the sport. Our first show was held in Kempsey NSW on the 14th June 2015. A new era has begun! We are looking forward to the future****

ACHG provide a family friendly environment, with 100% support & encouragement. ACHG goal is to promote the sport of cutting, increase awareness of the opportunities & satisfaction of riding & showing cutting & snafflebit horses. ACHG strives to influence competitors at any level of competition to reach their goals, our competitors come from diverse backgrounds with many other abilities. ACHG encourages individuals, families, business's & companies to become involved in the sport of cutting. ACHG motto "Looking Forward - "Looking Back" stands for remembering the introduction of the cutting horse to Australian shores & how it has progressed over the years.
